(21 April 2023 - Hong Kong) Far East Consortium International Limited ("FEC"; Stock Code: 35.HK), is delighted to announce the opening of two landmark hotels in the CBD of Melbourne, Australia.
On 23 March 2023, FEC opened the Ritz-Carlton Melbourne. The hotel consists of 257 luxury guest rooms located within the West Side Place mixed-use development in the CBD of Melbourne. The lobby sits on the 80th floor and all the rooms offer impressive views over Melbourne.
The Ritz-Carlton Melbourne represents the second Ritz-Carlton developed and opened by FEC in Australia. In November 2019, FEC successfully opened the 205 luxury guest rooms Ritz-Carlton in Perth, within the mixed-use luxury development of Elizabeth Quay.
More recently, on 19 April 2023, FEC opened the Dorsett Melbourne. The hotel consists of 316 guest rooms and is also located within the West Side Place development in Melbourne. The Dorsett Melbourne offers exquisite experiences and a snapshot into the city's vibrant art scene through a showcase of urban artwork by local Melbourne artists.
The Dorsett Melbourne is also the second Dorsett property of FEC in Australia. In December 2021, FEC opened the 313 guest rooms Dorsett Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, located next to The Star Entertainment property and adjacent to the very popular Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and the beautiful beaches of the Gold Coast.
Commenting on the openings, Mr. Chris Hoong, Managing Director of FEC said: "We are delighted to be opening two landmark hotel properties in our A$2.4 billion West Side Place development. The hotels are joining a very vibrant community of residents in the West Side Place development and add incremental value to the precinct. These two properties are testament to our growth strategy in Australia and will start right away to contribute revenues to FEC."
Commenting on the openings, Ms. Winnie Chiu JP, President and Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International said: "We currently have a total of 42 properties in 20 cities which are owned, under development or operated by the FEC Group. We have committed significant resources to our growth strategy in Australia and these two properties are very important milestones. We are currently developing 5 other hotels in Australia. Upon completion, FEC Group will own more than 2,300 rooms in Australia."
