(Hong Kong - October 24, 2000) EC-Founder Co. Ltd. ( "EC-Founder" ), one of the subsidiaries of Founder Holdings Limited ( "Founder Holdings")(SEHK: 418), formally launched its SHARKS Internet Security Solutions on October 18, 2000, in Beijing, symbolizing the Company's full-scale entry into the Internet security domain. It is the first product series, formally launched by EC-Founder ever since its establishment on September 5, 2000. "High security" refers to the characteristic that, besides guaranteeing the security for the object under protection, the solution takes care that the security software itself remains intact. While most commonly-in-use network security products continue to utilize the "FireWall" technology, the Achilles's Heel of the technology itself is having IP address, which can easily be detected and hacked. "High efficiency" refers to the fact that in & out data transmission speed of the computer is not affected at all by either installation, configuration or utilization. Tests done show that, even with 1000 filtering commands running, the data transmission speed is kept as high as 90Mbps.

"Multiple-layer protection" reflects the developers' concept that a website's security is more than just one layer of "FireWall" (control of visits) and that it should be a tridimensional protecting system comprising multiple functions, such as detection of hackers, as analysis of log files as well as control of visits. Logically speaking, the security of a system consists of pre-event protection, ongoing protection and post-event protection. Pre-event protection refers to the deterrence of hacking, which is realized through "FireWall". Ongoing protection refers to the warnings and feedback sent to hackers, a kind of smart detection and protection in immediate response to ongoing hacking activities, realized through a IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and a warning system. Post-event protection refers to the analysis and repair of the hacked and damaged system, which is realized through an analysis of log files and a contingency reaction system.

"Easy administration" is another important part in implementing Internet security measures. According to some statistics, 30% of hacking activities happened when there was a "FireWall" system and the major reason for it was not that the "FireWall" system was useless, but that the management and configuration of "FireWall" systems were too complicated to administrate and maintain. It required for administrators to have an in-depth knowledge of all hacking tricks and their co-relations with the system configuration. On the other hand, the administration of a "FireWall" system cannot be managed as a whole. These are the reasons why a "FireWall" system cannot succeed in security protection. "FireBridge" by EC-Founder, however, makes use of GUI (Graphic User Interface) and supplies all kinds of administrative tools, making it a lot easier to do system administration.

"FireBridge" by EC-Founder also provides very high reliability and tolerance for "disaster", helping to satisfy the subject system's 24x7 non-stopping requirement.
