... Performance by the world renowned tabla maestro Zakir Hussain
Orange, Mumbai's leading cellular service provider is sponsoring this year's Musical Extravaganza at the Kala Ghoda Festival - 2001 to be held from February 1 to 14. The Music Fest includes a tribute to the late Ustad Allarakha, the renowned tabla maestro and a performance by the ever popular Zakir Hussain.
The musical extravaganza by reputed Indian and international artistes include John McLaughlin (guitar), Giovanni Adelgo (bongos), Sikiru Adepoju (talking drums & gudugudu), L Shankar (double violin), Shivamani (percussion), Fazal Quereshi (tabla), Taufiq Quereshi (percussion) and of course Zakir Hussain (tabla and other percussion instruments).
The schedule for the Orange sponsored Kala Ghoda music events is as follows:
