[1 June 2006 - Hong Kong] - Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) is pleased to announce that, further to the announcement made last December of its conditional agreement to acquire a majority shareholding in Terminal Catalunya S.A. (TERCAT), TERCAT has been awarded the concession by the Barcelona Port Authority to build and operate the new container terminal, Prat Pier Container Terminal, at the Port of Barcelona, Spain.
Commenting on the news of the award, Mr. John Meredith, Group Managing Director of HPH said, "We are delighted to learn about the decision and we welcome the Port of Barcelona as our key port in southern Europe. We look forward to developing the Port together with our partner Grupo Mestre and the Port Authority."
