[23 November 2006 - Hong Kong] Hongkong International Terminals (HIT) is pleased to announce that it has successfully competed against 39 other leading companies in HK and won the Grand Award in the eBusiness Category of the Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards 2006. Within the eBusiness Category, HIT has also clinched the Gold Award for the eBusiness (Applications), for its proprietary Next Generation Terminal Management System (nGen).

These awards are the latest in a string of accolades bestowed on the company for the pioneering work achieved in enhancing the operational capability and efficiency of the supply chain. On 5 November, HIT was the Grand Prize Winner at the Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology Awards (APICTA) 2006 in the Industrial Applications Domain.

Eric Ip, Managing Director of HIT, said, "We take great pride in receiving these latest industry honours as they recognise HIT's ongoing efforts in setting industry standards for the development and deployment of service-enhancing technology. At HIT we are continuously looking into new and improved ways of better serving our customers and contributing to the overall competitiveness of Hong Kong's transport and logistics industry."

Organised by the Hong Kong Computer Society, the Hong Kong ICT Awards (formerly known as IT Excellence Awards) recognise, promote and commend the excellent achievements to which Hong Kong ICT professionals and organisations contribute. The Awards encourage local practitioners to develop innovative and creative ICT solutions, which will uplift the image of Hong Kong's ICT sectors, both locally and internationally, and is supported by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government.
