APM is destined to become Sun Hung Kai Properties' (SHKP) retail flagship in East Kowloon and a showpiece of modern architecture that will be a local landmark. Created in partnership with internationally renowned architects Benoy, APM has a revolutionary architectural design - Xsite - that complements its unique 'Omni-Lifestyle Magazine' retail concept, and has already attracted Broadway Circuit Lifestyle Cinema.

APM is above the Kwun Tong MTR station with extensive transport links to all Hong Kong. Senior Project Manager of Project Management with SHKP Ringo Chu said, "We have been planning APM since 1993, making use of its excellent location by having three air-conditioned footbridges from 18 to 30 feet wide linking the main APM entrances to Kwun Tong MTR station, Yue Man Square and How Ming Street. These will make APM a convenient focal point of East Kowloon."

APM will have 350 pieces of glass forming a wide open wall and roof to admit natural light. In addition, a 270°C glass cylinder will offer shoppers a spectacular open view. Plenty of natural light and ceilings ranging from 3.5M to 4.2M will create a comfortable and spacious ambience for shoppers.

APM will achieve its unique image with the revolutionary Xsite architectural concept. Benoy Operation Director Simon Blore said, "Xsite is a site for generation X, and will be a place full of excitement for the young and young-at-heart. Xsite is a creative showpiece of contemporary architecture. We are using a lot of new elements to create APM's unique image. Xsite will be from the 3/F to 5/F, linked by numerous escalators between the floors. The circulation of shoppers will be greatly enhanced and evenly distributed to each level. There will also be a gigantic piece of hanging architecture with various light effects on each floor. We will even have an open shop front design, so people can see clearly what is going on inside Xsite, even from afar. Special multi-coloured replaceable plastic flooring will be used to create fresh looks from time to time. All these will make APM an attractive spot for shoppers."
