Franklins would like to announce that Peter Cowern has accepted the appointment of Finance Director of the Mandarin Oriental International Limited to be effective from August 2nd 1999. Since his appointment in August 1996, he has played an instrumental role in the re-positioning of Franklins as one of Australia's leading food retailers. We wish him well in this new role.

We are further pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Neville as the new Finance Director for Franklins Australia. Simon, aged 41, joined Dairy Farm as Group Treasurer in February 1996. Prior to joining Dairy Farm he was Treasurer to TOTAL'S UK operations. He brings 20 years of experience in financial management including three years as a senior manager with J Sainsbury p.l.c.

Simon holds an MBA from Kingston University (UK) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and the UK's Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Simon Neville will relocate to Sydney in June to take up this position. We look forward to welcoming Simon to the Franklins business.
