Through its subsidiary, Weihai Sinogen Pharmaceutical Limited, the Group pioneers its biotechnology establishment in the PRC with the commercialization and marketing of its highly acclaimed liver drug for the treatment of severe hepatitis B, Wei Jia - pHGF (Hepatocyte Growth Promoting Factor) intramuscular injection. Wei Jia is a rare "Class I Western New Drug" approved by China's State Drug Administration (SDA) and has a 12-year exclusive license period for its sale and production.

In 2001, the Group strategically relocated its sales and marketing headquarters from its production base to Shanghai and built a well-structured, across-the-nation sales network for effective penetration of its products into China. Meanwhile, the Group selectively invited over 20 eminent medical professionals to portrait as the Group's ambassadors, whom they travel across the nation to promote the Group's products by presenting expert-to-expert seminars to local hospitals. As of March 2002, over 250 hospitals have adopted Wei Jia in their medical practice; the total number of Wei Jia user hospitals is expected to double at the end of the fiscal year.

Currently, the Group is focusing on the research of a recombinant DNA version of Wei Jia and plans to roll it out to other high rate viral hepatitis areas such as India, South East Asia and the South American countries.
