(Hong Kong - 21 May 2001) Founder Holdings Limited ("Founder Holdings", SEHK: 418) announces that PUC Founder (MSC) Berhad ("Founder (MSC)"), Founder Holdings' 49% associated company in Malaysia, has recently received official approval from Malaysia's Securities Commission for listing on the Malaysian Exchange of Securities Dealing & Automated Quotation Bhd ("MESDAQ").
At present, the pricing for the initial public offering ("IPO") as well as the actual date for the official listing are not yet fixed and are subject to market demands and the external market environment. With a successful MESDAQ listing, it is expected that Founder (MSC)'s image and reputation in the South East Asia and the Greater China Regions will be further promoted, which in turn will benefit Founder (MSC)'s future marketing activities. Through the IPO, Founder (MSC) aims to raise additional capital to fund the research, development and promotion of its fingerprint and e-commerce businesses.
Founder (MSC) was among the first companies to have achieved the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) prestigious status from the Malaysian government in 1997. In 1998, it achieved the ISO9001 Recognition and become the first MSC company to have had such recognition. In 2000, under the Multimedia Super Corridor Research and Development Scheme, Founder (MSC) received a grant from the Malaysian government to fund the research and development of its FingerPrint Identification System. Founder (MSC) has long been the leading solutions provider for Chinese electronic publishing systems in Malaysia and the neighboring countries, which was further evidenced by the 8.5 million Hong Kong Dollar-sized contract signed with Singapore's leading news publisher and premier information provider, Singapore Press Holdings Limited, early this month.
