Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for April 2024:
- Total international tourist arrivals increased by 22.1% YoY to 2,640,999 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 19.0% YoY to 1,610,076 visitors in the first five months of 2024, representing recovery rates of 91.4% and 189.6% respectively compared to the same period in 2019. For the month of May 2024, arrivals from ASEAN was 366,977 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 6.3% compared to the month of April 2024
- Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 29.2%, followed by Vietnam (20.0%), China (12.3%), Lao PDR (5.8%), U.S.A (3.6%), Korea (3.4%), Indonesia (2.6%), France (2.3%), U.K (2.1%) and Japan (1.8%)
- These top 10 markets accounted for 83.1% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 23.4% YoY to 2,194,028 visitors in the first five months of 2024
- Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 26.3% YoY to 986,435 visitors and 19.6% YoY to 1,654,564 visitors in the first five months of 2024. For the month of May 2024, arrivals via land / waterways was 362,912 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 3.5% compared to the month of April 2024
- Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 22.1% YoY to 699,007 visitors in the first five months of 2024
- Arrivals from China increased by 43.1% YoY to 326,003 visitors in the first five months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 29.5% compared to the same period in 2019
- International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 26.5% YoY to 544,230 visitors in the first five months of 2024, with the top 5 markets coming from China (42.7%), Vietnam (20.5%), Indonesia (9.9%), Thailand (5.4%) and Taiwan (3.5%), representing a recovery rate of 95.9% compared to the same period in 2019
- International business-related travels coming from China increased by 34.6% YoY to 232,235 visitors in the first five months of 2024, representing a recovery rate of 53.0% compared to the same period in 2019

Key highlights of the tourism statistics report for December 2023:
- Total international tourist arrivals increased by 139.5% to 5,453,231 visitors and arrivals from ASEAN increased by 121.4% to 3,549,025 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, total international tourist arrivals was 535,788 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 5.0%, while arrivals from ASEAN was 334,772 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 6.3% compared to the month of November 2023
- Of the top 10 markets, Thailand was the highest at 33.4%, followed by Vietnam (18.7%), China (10.0%), Lao PDR (6.8%), U.S.A (3.4%), Korea (3.1%), Indonesia (2.3%), France (2.0%), U.K (1.8%), and Malaysia (1.6%)
- These top 10 markets accounted for 83.1% of total tourist arrivals, an increase of 138.2% to 4,533,997 visitors in 2023
- Arrivals via air and land / waterways increased by 135.8% to 1,866,231 visitors and 141.5% to 3,587,000 visitors in 2023 respectively. For the month of December 2023, arrivals via air and land / waterways were 193,108 and 342,680 visitors representing a sequential increase of 8.7% and 3.0% respectively compared to the month of November 2023
- Arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport increased by 124.0% to 1,365,735 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, arrivals via Phnom Penh International Airport was 131,985 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 9.7% compared to the month of November 2023
- Arrivals from China increased by 412.6% to 547,798 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, arrivals from China was 49,548 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 10.9% compared to the month of November 2023
- International business-related travels into Cambodia increased by 134.6% to 1,011,274 visitors in 2023, with the top 5 markets coming from China (39.0%), Vietnam (21.2%), Indonesia (8.8%), Thailand (7.2%) and Taiwan (3.4%)
- International business-related travels coming from China increased by 407.8% to 394,042 visitors in 2023. For the month of December 2023, international business-related travels coming from China was 32,691 visitors, representing a sequential increase of 4.9% compared to the month of November 2023
