Shui On Construction and Materials Limited (SOCAM), a member of the Shui On Group which has over 35 years of history, was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in February 1997. SOCAM is principally engaged in property, cement, construction and venture capital investment, and has operations in over 14 cities and strategic areas in Hong Kong, Macau and the Chinese Mainland.
Our property interests are threefold, comprising distressed properties and greenfield developments in the Chinese Mainland, complemented by a significant interest in the publicly listed Shui On Land Limited, also a member of the Shui On Group.
Lafarge Shui On Cement Limited, our joint venture with Lafarge, is the cement market leader in Southwest China with a strong presence in Beijing, Chongqing, Guizhou, Sichuan and Yunnan. It is determined to be one of the top cement producers in China through aggressive plans for expansion and acquisition.
Our accredited and award-winning construction business marked the origin of the Shui On Group. With its high level of competence in construction, design-and-build, interior fitting-out, renovation, heritage restoration and maintenance of public housing and institutional buildings in Hong Kong, Macau and the Mainland, the construction division has become a cornerstone on which SOCAM's property development operations will build future prosperity.
Our venture capital funds were set up to invest in fledgling high-tech enterprises in the Chinese Mainland as well as Hong Kong. The range of investments embraces innovative products and services.
